Hi Keili. Usually John Allen makes up some rubbish about Fabio to try to irritate him. Are you going to fill in on that function too? Some ideas: "Fabio is dressed as a lumberjack today!" or "Why did Fabio bring these 30 to 50 feral hogs into the studio with him today?!"

The Cure are playing in Paris a couple of weeks from now. I'm not going: €70 for a crowded festival with questionable sound and overpriced drinks is way too steep (even though Let's Eat Grandma is on the same day). I passed on shelling out €130 to see Cynthia Loemij this year, so I guess I'm getting cheap in old age. Gotta save for the fall fundraiser too

Some bands that are identified as goth do not register as goth to me. For instance Joy Divisiion, Birthday Party/Nick Cave, Bauhaus, Siouxaie and the Banshees. If they're goth than so is Screamin Jay Hawkins.

I had a great disaster of an encounter with Keiji Haino once: a friend was acting as his regular translator and she introduced me to him. I was immediately obvious that the main thing we had in common was a total lack of interest in that interaction. I was too routinely shy and hostile to even get uncomfortable meeting a musical hero
  1:51pm

Fashion Tashjian:

@fred, it was for my spine, actually. So, unfortunately it was positive that I'm even worse of than I was years ago, but anyway, climate change is going in the opposite direction for the South Caucasus this year. My wife and I planned a vacation to Lake Stevan starting this weekend, and it's about 7 Celsius cooler this August than it is every year. We're getting close to closing the windows at night now, and this is August!!! It should still be brutally hot, as brutal as that Immortal Bird track was.)))

really enjoying the show; was curious about Bobo & found this quote which i found interesting

"This song, like the majority of songs we did, came out of a jam. Mario C. always kept the DAT tape rolling so we had reference to what we were playing. There was a song by Miles Davis called 'Miles on the Corner' and it was also sort of a jam piece. I think Ad-Rock came up with the title. I basically just starting doing a percussion solo over the beat. The original jam was about 7-8 minutes long and Mario C. edited it to what is now on the Ill Communication record. I didn't know that it would be included on the album, but I think it's cool that there is a song named after me on a Beastie Boys record." - Eric Bobo, March 2003
