Hello Rich and carcass dirigibles...
  12:19am
JakeGould:

Speaking of smoking, I have only been on the subway a few times a week for the past 4 weeks because of all of this… And three times I have seen this one homeless guy who has some kind of radio with earbuds, sits down, jams out and is smoking as well.

Even cops have seen him and said nothing; I mean nobody is really on the trains, everyone is wearing a mask and the guy is making the best of its all.

@12:18 rich: WIGWAM - anything they did from 1968 to 1977 is simply gold. acknowledged by some UK music journalists at the time but mostly ignored by the record-buying masses (and Virgin dropped them arouns 12977 from their roster)
  12:21am
JakeGould:

Also a fun activity if you are up to it: Despite the subway stations being desolate, there are still some street musicians in the major ones. Playing to few to no people and their music really echos. Very cool thing to experience if you can.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21am
Handy Haversack:

Hey, Mr. P! I have kept this tab open for two days just waiting to be on at the same time as you so I could toss you the URL. It's ... not gonna be easy. Apologies all around! www.nobleknight.com...

There was a Peanuts character called Shermy? Lol, never knew that. Sherm is oldschool slang for weed + angel dust. Linus would be high-risk too though, right? Always has his hand in his face, carrying around that dirty old blanket.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31am
Mr. Pumpy:

Cool stuff, HH. I'm digging the Acid Mist...but Ca$h Monet is bangin'! My deliver day for the lbs. o dice was moved up to Sunday. If I somehow get them tomorrrow I'm goign to roll up a character. A phone call may be in order, either way...if'n ya have the time tomorrow. I have some questions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31am

Jake, speaking of Peanuts, did you ever see that comic Peanuts Underground where Charlie Brown, Pigpen, Lucy and Snoopy were The VU?

That OCS track was fantastic, too. Rich, I'm in. Let's blow this thing up!

@Mr. P: I'm planning some yard work like 12-3 but otherwise am totally up for a call!
  12:32am

They would all catch it at one of their dances. And the news of the deaths would be revealed initially at the wall. Lucy would be overwhelmed with “Psychiatric Help” and shut down.

ngh Tony has said the main reason tape hiss episodes are not archived is because he plays the tapes in their entirety. (so no incentive to buy their stuff if we can listen to the whole release in an archive) so yeah -even if he can track them down...
as you say, a man of morals.

and then there's this:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35am
Franco Twinkie:

Mariano, in my drug saturated part of the world, a Sherm was a Nate Sherman cigarette that had been 'dipped'.
  12:35am
JakeGould:

@coelacanth∅: But in many cases it’s a big “What if?” if someone gets played and hears themselves and are cool with archiving, they might do something.

Many tapes are long forgotten projects. And many of those artists just post MP3 audio for free (just donation) on Bandcamp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am
mariano:

Interesting, Franco - guessing that's where the term comes from?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am
Mr. Pumpy:

I think Pigpen would survive almost any disease. He's the canary in the Peanuts' coal mine. That mofo has antibodies for days. Schroeder, on the other hand, while he may not get COVID-19, he's bound to have any number of potential STDs due to Sally rubbing her bare ass all over his piano keys when he's not looking. Perpetual conjunctivitis at the very least!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38am
Handy Haversack:

Gah, Rich! The download link seems to be empty now. Ah, well. Will poke around. Maybe get Clay some Sanka.
  12:40am
JakeGould:

One of my fave comic roastings is “Brooklyn loves C3PO.” Only 20 of them were made and — at one point in my life — I owned one of the 20… But it got lost in the shuffle of life. Check out the scans here… The basic concept was “What if C3P0 just lived in Brooklyn…” wowcool.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40am
coelacanth∅:

Jake yeah for sure. but that's Tony's choice. he just wants to give the artists the same respect that artists on big labels get ...are forced to get!

As kids we all adopted a Peanuts name for our street baseball games. The kid across the street became Pigpen. When his father found out, he insisted his son have a more dignified name. "Dad, it's a cartoon character!" the kid pleaded. To no avail, his father said "I don't care, you're not going to be Slop Bucket!" And that was that. Poor kid.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am

Handy, that is a strong case, but I see Snoopy's wanderin' cousin Spike in here somewhere. And I ain't talking about shoehorning him in either...the work screams for him. Ahh...never mind. I was quite emphatic about it, but I think he'd be better in Endgame. Or...or...Spike's Last Tape?

Health Lenses of the Hyperborean Householder:

When the Hyperboreans ruled the land, every sorcerer was a king or queen, ruling with absolute power within their demesnes. The human and beasts that served them were chattel, bred to serve the dark whims of the Hyperboreans and reflect back the unquestioned power that they viewed as their inheritance and right. Even as their decadence waxed and the Green Death began to be known and to kill without regard to race or power, the Hypberborean sorcerers crafted devices of great skill and cruelty to maintain their limpid force. These sets of lenses were devised to protect the households from disease, allowing the Hyperborean rulers to diagnose and cure any affected slave or visitor. Two lenses, one of emerald and one of diamond, are housed in an armature of gold and brass, secured over the wearer’s eyes by straps of daemon leather and the silver-black thews of nightgaunts. Gazing through the smaragdine lens reveals the presence and severity of disease in any creature viewed. The diamondiferous lens effects a cure by means of a disintegration ray with a range of 30'. This power is triggered automatically when any disease is detected by the other lens and is untriggerable by any other known means. It is possible to remove the diamond lens without disabling the emerald, though the procedure is difficult.
