I thought I had the album I was listening to timed pretty well, but I ended up cutting off the last song to switch over. Ah, well, this (and a bajillion other reasons) is why I'm not the DJ.

Edward:

This over-the-top hot dog pimpin' may strike some as less than necessary, but the honorable tube steak had some unfavorable word-of-mouth to overcome at one time. When a study came out disputing the health benefits of hot dogs, Nathan's of Coney Island hired some local derelicts to dress in medical scrubs, wear stethoscopes, and sit in a big row at the counter wolfing dogs, so that would be the first thing greenhorns getting off the subway at Stillwell would see.

Edward:

Publicity was so guileless then compared to now.

Hiya all, hey Matt! Ray Sharpe remains the greatest, I only wish he and Ronnie Dawson had been able to record together way back when
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm
Matt Fiveash:

DK, I remember that being part of Ray Sharpe's stage patter, that he and Ronnie wanted to have an act called "The Oreo Cookies" but 1950's showbiz Texas just wasn't having it
  7:47pm
Edward:

Sell my monkey??? That will NEVER do.

Reach out in the darkness!
  7:57pm
Edward:

Take the example of Werner Herzog, who got the hundreds of monkeys swarming the raft in the final scenes of AGUIRRE, WRATH OF GOD by showing up at the port posing as an "Animal Inspector" and took custody of a bunch of 'em about to be exported. He returned them--the ones who didn't escape. But I always laugh at the incredibly intense final shots, where you can see a whole shit ton of the little guys paddling for shore.

P-90:

That Fairfield Four track was RADICAL!
Thanks, Weekly Matt
